Claire Coullon is a french graphic designer and typographer residing in Prague. She studied in the UK for 4 years and previously worked in a few countries before confounding Op45 in 2008 where she works full time.
Claire is one of the most enthusiastic typographers I have met, her friendly personality and her passion for engaging other creatives in her development is always enlightening as she also loves helping others.
Claire’s speciality is in hand drawn typography in which she makes a number of pencil sketches and tweak them to perfection until it looks just right. Below you can see her case studies to which one can learn a lot from.
One of my main ongoing interests is exploring the visual aspect of words and language: its relation to the content, conveying the nuances of speech & meaning, impact on communication, perception by different people and cultures…
I firmly believe in the importance of a concept-driven approach and design that is highly indicative of its subject to ensure effective communication in a crowded visual world. I love functional, simple and subtle design that also has warmth and a strong sense of personality.
