9 meters of wall is a daunting prospect for any illustrator, though one which Tobias Hall takes easily in his stride. After showing work at NewDesigners design expo, Tobias was approached by restaurant chain Zizzi and  commissioned to produce a mural for their Earls Court restaurant.

 

 

Drawn in biro, coloured and textured in Photoshop, Tobias at first approaches each mural as he would any other illustration. Printed onto acetate these initial illustrations are then projected onto the wall, an over head projector necessary when working to the pace denoted by the challengingly tight timescales of  restaurant-opening schedules.

 

 

The murals produced for Zizzi, full of colour, energy and character, have already garnered the right sort of attention.  The David Bowie mural for Zizzi Beckenham gained Hall a feature in Computer Arts, many murals have been sought for private commission and Zizzi have now taken Tobias on as a permanent member of their in house creative team.
