With the dribbblisation of design in anno 2014, it’s good to come across something unique and wonderful, something we have not seen before. One of those things is an ongoing project by Lorraine Loots, an artist from Cape Town, South Africa. With her project “Postcards for Ants”, she created a miniature artwork every single day since January 1, 2013. With a large variety of tools she created artworks at no larger than the size of a coin, amazing her audience with every single one of them.
Lorraine was looking for a way to document the day, and those daily creations enabled her to place a mark on each day. After the first year she continued with another 365 Postcards for Ants, creating another 365 minuscule paintings may seem like a hard task, to come up with something new every day, so she enabled people to a “reserve” and “suggest” a painting. This interactive twist the project gain was something Lorraine really liked, enabling people to send in a thought or a vision, and seeing it on paper the next day.
Below we have created a collection of her work, for more about the artist and her work you can visit her website.
